To set your motor bracket and keep it in place you will need some brass tubing.
The wetted surface of the front hinge to pan joints seemed a little small, so the additional.032" braces tragerea loto din 18 ianuarie 2018 were added for more strength.
The slot you see in the rear is for clearance of the spur gear needed with anglewinder and sidewinder chassis set ups.The one you see here is make of 1/16" thick aluminum.I may also lengthen the L-shaped bracket braces that tie the corners of the bracket to the main rails so that the horizontal legs of the braces extend farther forward alongside the motor.That is something that you will have to make up yourself.For using the 3/32 axles you will need to sleeve them with some 3/32 ID brass tubing.So I will be making some mods to stiffen it up a bit.I figured I'd better post these pics now, as further mods are super bingo card in mail 2018 planned based on the chassis' performance at the R4 and a couple of serra races.I'll also add.032" joint braces to the rear hinge to pan joints, as with the front ones, and will extend them touch the front.032" braces to stiffen the pans themselves a bit.The jig wheels will be 3/4" for the front.00 a set, and 13/16 for the rear, also.00 a set.I finished this chassis at the R4 and didn't have any decent copper tie-wire in my box, so I used some braided silver shunt wire I did have.I posted a pic of the cut-down pan some weeks back and this is the completed chassis.The jig Is fully adjustable from 1" to a full 5 3/4" and is designed to take either 1/8 or 3/32 axles.Pendle Slot Racing, customer Services, contact Information, the Slot Car Racing Specialists.The jig wheels are also made of aluminum and are used in place of your regular tires and wheels to keep them from melting them during construction :-).An indispensable piece of equipment when building your own chassis from brass sheet and tubing is a chassis jig.

The.032" brass pan material is simply not strong enough for front wings (at least on my cars, where wall contact is a fairly frequent occurrence!) and the.055" piano wire is run along the top of the front wings to stiffen them.
The straight upper brace on the motor bracket is 1/16" tubing; everything else is piano wire.
